The Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) is a points-based system used by Immigration, Refugees, and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) to assess and score candidates in the Express Entry pool. The CRS evaluates candidates based on factors such as:
Age
Education
Work experience
Language proficiency (English and/or French)
Canadian work experience
Skills transferability factors
Additional points can be awarded for factors like a job offer in Canada, a provincial nomination, and having a sibling in Canada who is a citizen or permanent resident. The CRS score determines a candidate’s rank in the Express Entry pool, and those with the highest scores are invited to apply for permanent residency during regular draws.
Your results
All Express Entry candidates get a score out of 1,200, based on the four parts of the Comprehensive Ranking System formula.
We invite the highest-ranking candidates from the pool to apply as a permanent resident through regular “rounds of invitations.” See what minimum scores have been in the past.
